Family
All family members are called relatives.
They could be blood relatives or relatives by marriage.
Everybody has an immediate family, which includes parents and siblings. These are called blood relatives. You
have your blood relatives, I have mine.
Your parents are your mother and father.
Your siblings are your brother(s) and sister(s).
Your children are your son and daughter. If one of
your children is a boy, he is your son. If one of your children is a girl, she
is your daughter.
Your spouse is your husband or wife. This is the
partner to whom you are married. The man is the husband, the woman is the wife.
You have also an extended
family, which includes all people in your mother’s and father’s families, like your grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins.
Your spouses’ relatives and step-relatives are called
relatives by marriage.
Step-relatives are members of your stepfamily. The
stepfamily includes people who became part of your family due to death, divorce
or separation. The new people and their relatives become part of your blended family. Some people are born into a
stepfamily.

status is another word for a relationship status. Examples of marital statuses
